inch worms

I have a worm in my computer. Supposedly from Limewire, which is the music sharing program I have. Thanks Limewire! Thanks Dave Matthews Band for making a song I wanted to download and was too cheap and poor to buy! Now I have a fucking penis running rampant on my computer!

I am running some scans, and my Norton antivirus and Symantec crap.I hope I will be able to get this fucker out of here soon. Sissy had one that ate pretty much of her PC. That scares me. I better back up some shit, because I am scared.

It's called the W32.Alcra.A . Do any of you out there know how I can get rid of this asshole?

Mari,

I asked my friend, he's a computer guy, he says to look at this link

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.alcra.a.html

he says it will explain the virus. I dont know anything about that stuff, but hopefully it helps.

I am gonna try to restore. Thanks Dez and Mad, I went to that site already this morning and it looks like greek language to me. I can't figure it out.
It can't delete or quarantine it, and the date of the worm seems to be very recent, like 2 days ago. So they have no idea how the fuck to get it out.
GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! MOTHER FUCKER! I had a shitty day. My kids' turtle died. My husband's work almost caught fire. INSANE. FUCKING INSANE.

Put your head on my shoulder. Take deep breath. I give you back rub, and say nice things, like "You simpleton; how did you get conned into getting a virus?" And then I say: "There, there."

I'm so good to you.

I tried system restore. Dude, it don't work. I am now down to only 5 files being wormed as opposed to 2000 this afternoon. Yes. I said 2000.
I am freaking out over here. I reckon my ass better back some shit up and buckle up for a long fucking night.

Mari,

try running Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,22262,00.asp

along with that, i would put microsoft antispyware:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

sometimes these antispyware programs can catch crap like that. sometimes these viruses are hard to get rid of, because they change a registry setting. try running that.

if those things or norton doesn't get rid of it, you might need to just reinstall windows. i also would wait til your norton contract runs out, shitcan that and get this product: http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/desktop/pc-cillin/evaluate/overview.htm

we use them at work. its pretty reliable.

hope that helps!

by the way, itunes is great! you can download songs within a few seconds. they still only charge .99 a song. they have a good selection--and i'm as picky as they come when it comes to music selection.

How far back did you go with the system restore? Hmph! That did the trick for my computer when it went to the crapper...I guess this is a super virus. :(

I fell asleep before I could try to get rid of the bugger.
I am beat. Turtle burials, sobbing six year olds, my husbands work almost being consumed in smoke. An attacking worm on my PC. I just kind of passed out on the couch while my cat licked my hair. Keith carried my fat ass to bed. While I moaned something about scary shadow people or something.
Then I woke up at 4 a.m. & ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich while I buried my head in my hands and cried. LMAO.

If you've still got that bug try TrendMicro's HouseCall.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
It'll probably only tell you you've got a virus, but you never know.
